This 8-year-old Basset is often the smartest one (including other animals and people) in the room. She knows sit, stay, and come. She is house trained. She does counter surf, so keep those chairs pushed in! She loves people and wants to be part of the group. (Older children only.) She's OK with other animals most of the time, but likes to be dominant. She would do much better as an only dog. Dog savvy cats are OK! She does bark at other dogs when we are out walking. She walks well on a leash, but pulls when she sees another dog. She can easily do a 3 or 4 mile hike, you will never get a "flat basset" from her! She needs to be in an active home.

Petunia is perfect for someone who wants a constant companion and has lots of time and attention to give her, preferably someone who is home much of the time. She loves attention, sitting in your lap, and sleeping as close to you as possible~
