Learn more about the Basset Hound.
Otis is now ready for a home of his very own! He has blossomed in his foster home and has put on a lot of much needed weight.
Otis is well behaved, mellow, inquisitive, playful, and loving. He is a snuggler who enjoys being close with his people and with other dogs. He is housebroken and unfazed by medical procedures, nailclipping, bathing, changes in routine or loud noises. Otis belies his years! Have a feline in your life? Otis is also great with cats! In fact, he mostly ignores them but will give an occasional sniff. He is a little weak in the rear end which may improve with continued good care and regular exercise but he does not let it slow him down and compensates well. Otis came to us as a stray, he was very underweight and had horribly long nails. Though he still needs to gain a few more pounds he is looking great and feeling great. His nails are now the perfect length. He's been neutered, brought up to date on shots, is heartworm negative and current on his prevention. Otis also had a few benign lumps removed. He certainly feels and looks like a new man! GGBR would like to thank all of his sponsors for helping with his medical costs which were pretty high. He is one very lucky hound and will surely make his new family feel just as lucky. More about OtisGood with Dogs, Good with Cats
