Hello, my name is King, and I expect to be treated (and loved) like one! I am a 1 1/2 year old male looking for a new kingdom to rule! Actually, I am a pretty mellow guy! My foster mom says I should have been named Koda since she calls me Brother Bear all the time! I am sweet and cuddly like a bear and I am sure my totum is a bear as well. I used to live with lots of other dogs and was outside all the time. My foster family has three other dogs, two of which look like me (but I am much more handsome) and keep trying to teach me to play a game they call "Basset" but I would rather just watch. I like living inside much more than outside. I do love to play with my foster mom when she finally gets around to feeding me breakfast in the morning . . . I run around and flop down on my front legs to let her know how happy I am that she is up and is going to feed me! I am learning to live inside, I have learned how to go in and out the doggie door (I never even had one accident before I learned what that was for), up and down the stairs (down was pretty scary at first!), I am getting much better walking on a leash and I am perfect gentleman in the car. I try to act brave in new situations but I am really kind of shy and just like to sit back and watch. My foster dad tried to put me in a crate my first night -- I put the brakes on and refused to go in there and am still mad at him for that. I was happy sleeping on the dog bed in the living room but then my foster sister taught me how to get on the big bed the other dogs sleep on. Oh, I like the big bed especially when my foster mom gets in and I get to snuggle up against her. She says I need to sleep on the other side of the bed tho . . . I like to talk to the cats that live here too . . . they don't talk back, they just look at me, stretch and walk away. Silly beasts. I like kids and grown ups too except when my mom is dressed all in black getting ready to go work at the theater, then I get a little nervous.
My foster mom keeps asking me if I want to be an only dog or have another four-legged friend. I think I would be fine either way as long as there is a two legged person (or persons) around who can give me lots of snuggle time, and feed me twice a day of course.
If you would like to meet me, contact my Social Secretary to see if there is time on the royal calendar! Kings are very busy, you know! Special Needs: A little shy and wary of strangers. Some men he will not go near. protective of his group but not aggressive. |
