"Buddy" is an extremely mellow ~4yr old neutered male. He is very easy to have around and just calmly soaks up every ounce of attention he can get. He loves every kid that he has met and instantly goes to them and sits down and waits to be petted. He does well with other dogs of similar size or smaller but has shown some fear of larger male dogs. He has done great with my male and female 20 pound dogs, including at meal time. He patiently waits for his bowl to hit the ground and does not try to steal any other dogs food. He does need to be watched a bit when he drinks water because if he drinks too much he will puke it up- nothing gross, just all water! He has not had any accidents in the house, but did mark a few times the first few days he was in the house but I think that was because of the smells of my 2 dogs being everywhere.
He has also shown some fear of human males as well, but just needs a few treats and a calm introduction to take care of that. He can be left alone as long as he is confined to one room- if left to roam the house, he seems to pace around a bit. he can be gated into a room and will be fine. He often will initially cry when left alone, but if I quickly go back and just tell him he is ok and to hush hush, then he quiets down. Nightime is very easy with him as well. The first 2 weeks, he slept soundly on a blanket on the floor near me. Then, he felt at home enough to go to sleep on the bed in our guest bedroom - never making a peep until it was time to get up around 7 or so.
He is not a barker but will bark when he sees a squirrel or cat outside, and should not go to a home with cats. He will also bark a few times when he is playing, out of excitement. Other than that, he does not make a peep.
He is very low energy, but we can get him to fetch a ball for a few minutes a day inside our house. He will also play for a few minutes with my other dogs, but they all tire easily and quickly decide that naps are more fun.
Buddy walks well on a leash, and only pulls very slightly. If you keep up with his (moderate) pace, it is no problem at all. He has no problem walking side by side with other dogs as well. He will jump up to greet people, but we have been working on that and he is already showing improvements.
Buddy is amazingly loving dog that will make any family extremely happy. I think he would do best with a household that has kids in it (maybe over 5?) and that has a very secure fence/yard. He would run out of a front door if he had an option, so the entire household needs to know to hold on to him when opening any door with access to outside. It isn't that he wants to run away, but rather wants to go wherever he thinks you may be going. But, once he is outside, he is extremely hard to catch!
