Learn more about the Basset Hound.
Frank is an 8yo boy, who came to us from a local shelter. He quickly transformed into a very well adjusted boy. Frank always wants to say hello. The shelter told us that the former owner gave his real name, so he knows it and responds well. He is not shy about anything and he has a lot of bounce in his step. When you call him he comes running with the cutest gallop and a big wide eyed smile. It's such a joy to watch him bounce around. He has a very low center of gravity and his feet are huge. He's adorable. He's got a wonderful personality. His eyes are bright and he is very inquisitive. He loves other dogs and cats and humans. He'd be good for a family as long as the children were older than say 10. He wouldn't hurt anyone, but his bouncy personality might be much for a very small child. He does not act like an 8 year old dog.
He's well behaved, he knows the house rules and lives by them. He does not get up on the furniture (except the bed, which I invite him to) and is eager to please and takes direction well. He does well in the car, though if given the chance he will join you in the front seat.
He knows house training. If he needs out he tells you. Because my work schedule has me working later some nights than other, I provide him a "safe" area for when he needs to go and I'm not home. Whenever he does find himself in need, he never has accidents, he always uses that safe spot. Overall, he’s a very happy, well adjusted and affectionate boy. He’ll steal your heart, he stole mine, big time. More about FrankGood with Dogs
