*** 10/8/11, Bodie had his second corrective surgery on 9/7/11 and is doing very well! We are awaiting an update from his foster mom on his progress and likely availability date ***
*** 7/22/11 - Please note, Bodie is not currently available for adoption, he has had the first of two orthopedic surgeries, once the 2nd surgery is complete he will likely need 4-6 weeks recovery before he can go to a new home. This boy is sure popular though and appreciates all of the inquiries about him. If you'd like to sponsor Bodie to help cover his medical costs he and GGBR would sure appreciate it ***
“Bodie is one amazing Basset Hound – whom we have the extreme pleasure of fostering. He is such a character and will definitely pull on your heart strings once you meet him. He is a tri-colored Basset Hound, just barely over 1 year old, and has one of the best personalities that we have seen. He is potty trained and has never had any accidents in our house. He absolutely loves to play with toys, other dogs, play fetch (he is still learning to “drop it”) and loves bones (and will hide them in the house or backyard for later chews). He is a “counter surfer”, which can be quite common for Bassets, but knowing this prior can eliminate any chances of thievery. He does chase cats that he does not know, but has fallen in love with our cat – and has claimed him as his own. The two walk around our house, as a pair, and commonly sleep together (in between many licks). When not hanging out with the cat, Bodie is by our side, “helping” with daily tasks, playing with our Basset, sleeping and chewing on his bones. He loves to ride in the car to any destination – but prefers to go to the local dog park to play. Bodie has been given a second chance on life, thanks to GGBR, after a breeder wanted to euthanize him for a genetic condition – an ulnar growth plate closure. This simply means that his front leg is turned and gives him a slight limp when he walks. Because of this, he can only go for short leash walks before being tuckered out and needing to rest/sleep (which commonly is upside down). Bodie will be having a surgery to correct this issue very soon – but for now he is enjoying his second chance in life and hoping to find a forever home!” More about BodieGood with Dogs, Good with Cats Videos of Bodie:
