Where can we begin with this lovely senior hound?  Here are some of the comments from the foster homes he's been in:

"Just though you would like to know that Basil is doing fine. He sleeps in the crate, is good with the cats and Earl and the chickens, is not a horse poop eater (can you believe it?) likes men (and women too, but may have a little preference for men), does not get on the furniture, and thinks he should be fed in the kitchen and preferably not dog food; barks a little in the pen (not much) does appropriately bark at people (stealing my recycles –Earl just stood there. At least Basil barked.). Good dog."

"He's good on the leash but like Hank loves to smell every tree, hydrant, plant, pole etc.. so it's not a power rather slow walk. Last night he and Hank shared a pillow. It was quite cute. He has a good appetite and like Hank will let you know when he is hungry. He loves to follow me and Lola, our Beagle, everywhere. Wherever she goes he's not too far behind. He followed her all over the yard. He loves his belly rubbed and makes these adorable noises. He does not jump up. He's a little stubborn but then again he is an older gentleman..."

"Just wanted to give you an update on Mr. Basil (Like the spice). He's doing really well. Follows Greg or I around everywhere. If one of us happens to leave to take care of an errand, he does a little whimper but the is fine once he realizes one of us is there. Every night he sleeps on the dog pillow next to our bed and he sleeps through the entire night.  He loves Lola our beagle.  The two of them love to go outside and explore the garden.  He has no interest for digging or seeing what's out there beyond the fence. While we are gone at work Lola and Basil share a crate. It's the large crate and they have plenty have room. They love being together. When we do go for walks he does not pull rather smells every piece of item.  He does not have any food aggression; like Hank let's you know when he's hungry.

My only suggestion is for him to have a companion in his new home or someone who is always home and will take him places. He is completely house-trained, now he knows where to go to do his business.... He just wants someone to love him and give him lots of love, belly rubs, and attention."
