Burberry, or BB as her foster home is calling her, is a sweet 3-4 yr old female. Spayed and up to date on shots, heartworm negative. She is doing well in her foster home and has attached herself to the man of the house. BB is a rather timid hound, fearful in new situations but friendly to people and easily reassured. BB is housebroken unless you ignore her silent signals to get out. She may do well with a doggie door, or can be taught to ring a bell or rattle the blinds to attract attention. The foster home reports that BB is one of the sweetest dogs. She follows you around and just wants to sit and be loved. She is not noisy. She only barks when she is trying to get someone to play. She is wonderful in the car. She will be in the back seat and stand on the center console of the front and just watch the traffic. She does well on her walks. She does pull a little (as all bassets do), but not bad. She used to be underfoot while the foster mom was cooking but she very quickly learned where the boundaries were and now will sit just at the entry of the kitchen and watch. She learns quickly.
BB has not been around children much, but from her behavior when at the stores she does not have any issues with them.
She is good with the rabbits at her foster home once she got over that initial chase instinct. Now she does not pay any attention to them when they go hopping by. We can presume that she would show a similar behavior with cats or other small animals. She is going to make someone a wonderful companion. Are you that special person in her life?
