This sweet youngster is just waiting for a basset-savvy home and a couch to call her own!

ADOPTION PENDING - Honey is an absolute sweetheart of a hound.  Young, VERY active and in need of consistent training.  She's almost housetrained but started her life as an outside dog (who could leave this gorgeous girl outside?).  She's learned to use the doggie door very quickly and is using it more and more often as she settles in.  Honey loves to play.... with other dogs, with people... She would probably chase cats and although we've not tested her specifically, she shows such interest when out on a walk, that we would recommend no cats.  She pulls on a leash, but we're working on that... and she does understand 'sit'.  A series or two of training classes would work wonders for Honey.  She's very willing to please, just excitable.

Honey is also very enthusiastic in her greeting.  Training will improve this, but she may be too excitable for young children.  She would knock toddlers and young children over and probably end up frightening them, so older children (over 10 years) only please.

Honey is crate trained and sleeps in her crate overnight.  She's able to jump very well, so you would need to keep food off the counters and anything valuable inside cupboards and/or up high!  She hasn't chewed anything in her foster home, but she is inquisitive and relentless when she wants something.
