I'm a senior boy with a big personality! I get along great with cats and other dogs, although large breed dogs like my foster Great Dane sister scare me a little. I'm a vocal boy and will ask you to pet me, give me attention, feed me, and just to say hi! If you're in one place for longer than 0.0005 seconds, that means theres time to toss myself on the floor near your feet, bay, and get you to pet me! If you're busy, usually I like to sun bathe outside or find a comfy couch to snore on.

I like using the dog door for free range, but I will (begrudgingly) go into a crate and complain for a short time. I'm great on a leash. I take Carprofen twice a day to help some arthritic back joints but will also run if I'm feeling up to it! I don't play with toys but like a true basset I will take advantage of food left on an accessible counter (you snooze, you lose!). I'm great in the car but you'll need a ramp or to pick me up and put me down. I prefer not to have stairs unless they are small ones leading me to the couch or your bed. After a session of you rubbing my belly, I'll settle down on my bed and sleep through the night.

I just had a dental, a few fatty masses removed, and was neutered. I'm ready to retire with you!
