Are you looking for love? Meet Sweetheart!

Nine-year-old Sweetheart lives up to her name. She wants nothing more than a person to be devoted to. Is that you?

Sweetheart is spayed, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations. She just had a full dental cleaning, and is in good health. Sweetheart was born blind in her left eye, but, as you can see in the videos, blindness in one eye doesn't keep her from being a normal dog.

Sweetheart is good with other dogs, although it took a few weeks for her to really get comfortable in close quarters with her doggie foster brothers. She now, occasionally, can be seen grooming their faces and ears. She is perfectly fine around dog-savvy cats.

Sweetheart is a very lovable dog, who tends to be somewhat clingy and a worrier. Change is difficult for Sweetheart, so she will require patience and time to settle into a new environment. She would do best with someone, who understands and is patient with fearful, anxious dogs. She is fine with men, but seems as though she may prefer women. Her inquiring nose has to investigate every open cupboard, drawer, closet, or open appliance (dishwasher, clothes dryer, etc). Mostly, though, she wants to be where you are. Although she gets into the car willingly, she whines and gets car sick, so may not be the best choice for a life “on the road”.

Sweetheart’s ideal home would be one in which she can be with her person most of the time. Once she feels secure, she can be left alone for several hours and she will relax and quietly do her own thing, but on her person's return, she will squeal and howl to let them know how much they were missed.

Sweetheart can be adopted by herself, or perhaps, with her littermate, Dolly. Although the "Golden Girls", as they have been dubbed, are currently in separate foster homes, they might love to find a permanent home together.
