Learn more about the Basset Hound.
Joy was surrendered to Nevada Humane Society by her long term owners because they didn't have enought time for her. When she was in the shelter she had surgery on two mammary masses and an abdominal mass. It took her some time to recover from that surgery so she wasn't released from the shelter until 12/5. Since the shelter wanted to release to rescue, she went into foster care with Georgia Kinkella. While she had been at the shelter, a couple had visited her several times and really wanted her. They applied to be GGBR foster parents, making it possible for Joy to be placed with them the day after she had been placed with Georgia. This houndie has a sweet disposition, gets along with everyone, and is thriving in the Evans' home.
Special Needs: She has a large benign mass on her chest which likely needs removal. We obtained an estimate and the cost of removal approached $1800. Cathy will have it removed and thus she was offered a no fee adoption. |
