Learn more about the Basset Hound.
From Owner: Droopy is a 3 year old Basset Hound. I have to find him a new home because there is a new baby in the house and we don’t have the time to give him the life he deserves anymore. I am heartbroken about this and want to find him the best possible home and puppy parent. Droopy was adopted from a shelter and came with a few behavioral problems but has gotten sooo much better! I can discuss this further with whoever is interested in this wonderful dog. He is very loveable, playful, energetic, and just so cute. A home with a high energy family is what he needs and preferably with a big yard. He will not do well in an apartment setting. From Droopy: Hi! I am looking for a new home because my family cannot take care of me as well as they used to. I love (and need!) attention, which includes going for walks and spending time with my adoptive family. I have been through a lot in my short life and had issues with separation anxiety but with a good routine, I do really well. My family used to crate me when they went out but don’t anymore because I behave really well when home alone now. My favorite thing to play is chasing…I love to chase but hate being chased [Symbol] I am so energetic that I can get a bit hyper so I need an owner who can be patient with me. I have learned to “sit,” “down,” “speak,” “shake,” and a few others. I have an amazing memory and that has made it easy to learn commands. I do well with other dogs but don’t get along with cats. I also get too hyper around young children but children ages 5 years and up, I do well with. If you adopt me, I will bring lots of love to your home, I promise!
