Learn more about the Basset Hound.
Buddy is a gorgeous, beautiful, long, lanky boy with a gentle demeanor. He is low key, slow moving, with occasional outbursts of real speedy running. He is serious, not the goofy, playful type of basset. He likes a lot of attention and he likes to be stroked and petted. He whines when he wants your attention, or when he is stressed, but also when he is anticipating something fun, like going to the dog park. He seems the happiest when he is playing with other dogs: he just comes alive. He can be very tenacious and crafty about getting what he wants. Although he has a seizure disorder, it is under control with medication, which he takes readily with a bit of cream cheese. He responds well to consistency and order, but has difficulty controlling his impulses/desires in regard to food especially, which may be related to his seizure medication.
