Julius is a wonderful boy, below is what his foster mom says about him: He has the sweetest gentlest nature of any animal I have ever met. I think of him as a therapy dog because his personality has greatly assisted another feral rescue dog I have from a puppy mill. The first time she allowed me to touch her, after seven months here, was because he brought her to me and drew her to my hand. His spirit looks to the future with optimisms and he conveys joy and appreciation with an understated dignity. Julius Caesar has been living with 4 other dogs and a visiting guest puppy, he has perfect socialization skills. The puppy crawls all over him and he is patient with her despite her nips. He has not met a cat up close but I believe, especially because of his sight, he would be accepting. He sees shadows better at a distance; up close he is more dependent of his sense of smell. When I give him a treat I touch it to his nose, he takes food from your hand gently or you can drop it and he will eventually find it. He gets around with ease on my ¼ acre property and home. He likes all people, does not jump on them and tends to stay close as he enjoys the company. He has perfect car manners, settles in on his seat and does not wander around. His favorite laying spot is on a pillow next to my favorite chair. He is not a barker, unless he is playing with the other dogs and even then he doesn’t carry on; a few yelps and he is done. The feral dog has taught him how to play, her contribution to him. He is familiar with a leash but doesn’t need one because he stays close, he does not run out of the yard when I open the gate with my comings and goings. He uses the doggie door and had not had an accident at my home since the first week. I free feed and he shares the bowl with others with no problems. He has been neutered; he has had his shots and is scheduled for teeth cleaning and a microchip when he leaves here. His body has filled out, and he is a beautiful, laid back dog. He has been an easy dog to care for and a pleasure to have around my home. We will all miss him when he goes to his forever home.
