Hopie (Hope), an exceptionally pretty basset with very long ears, was surrendered to a shelter with her two sisters and her mother. Reportedly 9 years old, she looks and acts younger. She was very nervous at first but quickly became comfortable.  She is a very sweet-temptered basset. Hope gets along well with other dogs, walks well on leash, and knows how to use a dog door. She is a vocal girl and has a lovely singing voice. She isn't a nuisance barker or howler, however, her forever family will need some patience with her low whining. She is happiest when in the company of her family, both people and dogs. Although she exhibits some separation anxiety, she is not destructive. She will probalby do best in a family where people are home most of the time, or with a retired person who is often at home.

Hope will be a welcome addition to any basset-loving family!
