With her shining smile, Goldie is an aptly named treasure. This sweet girl was picked up by the Sutter County animal control as a stray, but her impeccable manners suggest she must have had a loving home life sometime in the recent past. Goldie hasn’t met a human she didn’t like. She is very interested in and tolerant of other dogs and animals. (She has even been enjoying visiting the chickens in her foster home!) Goldie uses a dog door and does her business outside. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Goldie LOVES adventures and really relishes walks and outings. Goldie is very comfortable in a family home; she is unruffled by action, noise or excitement. She is curious about the world around her. However all her recent transitions have meant she may get very attached to a single person. (Goldie acts as a sweet shadow to her foster mom!) She gets anxious when her person isn’t in sight, although she does calm down with consistency and patience. Her ideal family would continue to work with Goldie as she learns the ropes in a new environment. Goldie does take her cues from other dogs and would enjoy a home with other relaxed dogs like herself. Goldie is kind and patient with humans of all ages, but occasionally gets excited, runs and barks. She would be fine in a home with calm or slightly older children who she can’t accidentally knock over. (Maybe ages 6 or 7+) More about GoldieGood with Dogs, Good with Kids
