Meet Jack Black, our Bassador!

"When", you might ask, "did GGBR start rescuing Labrador Retrievers?" Well, one look at this guy's stubby legs and happy face, and how could we resist? He's a basset; he's a Labrador; he's a Bassador! His unique looks attract attention wherever he goes!

Jack is a friendly and easy-going guy. He has some arthritis in his back, which is aggravated by the fact that he is several pounds overweight. He is on a weight-loss plan and is getting lots of exercise in his foster home, so we hope to have him trimmed down to a healthy weight, before long. He's lost 7 pounds, but still has a few more to go.

Jack recently had surgery to remove a small bladder stone, but is now recovered and available for adoption.

Special Needs: Needs an owner that will keep his weight under control. It's not known at this time whether he will require a special diet to prevent future bladder stone formation.
